A survey of arranging techniques focussing on writing for horns, specifically trumpet, trombone, and saxophones, in the context of contemporary popular music and jazz, including approaches to voicing chords for horn sections as well as technical issues associated with these instruments, such as range, transposition, etc. We will also discuss writing for multiple voices.
